  • Arrival Time: Arrive at Boone County Lumber at 8:45 a.m. for your first assignment.
  • Lunch: Memorial Baptist Church

Why are we asking people to serve in this way?

It takes a lot of people to support this one-day, citywide effort! While most of our volunteers are assigned to work at specific locations, we also need a few key teams of “roaming” volunteers – people actively supporting dozens of sites in the city. The Transportation Team is one of those roaming teams.

Volunteers on this team will start their day at Boone County Lumber, 1100 Rogers St., running various errands. In the late morning, they will transition to nearby Memorial Baptist Church to help deliver lunches to all our serving sites.

What can I expect?

This group of volunteers should be ready to:

  • run errands and deliver necessary items (more paint, a missing tool, etc.) to sites with last-minute needs;
  • deliver lunch to dozens of work sites and hundreds of hungry volunteers!
  • deliver freezer meals put together by ForColumbia volunteers for the various non-profits and individuals receiving them.

ForColumbia will cover the cost of volunteers’ fuel.

  • We encourage all volunteers to wear closed-toed shoes.
  • Be sure to wear your #ForColumbia T-shirt!

Can my children serve with me?

Older elementary kids are welcome to join their parents on this team.
