Columbia Housing Authority: Kinney Point
- Arrival Time: 8:45-9:00 a.m.
- Lunch: Delivered on-site.
Why are we serving here?
One of the ways ForColumbia strives to love and serve our neighbors is by partnering with our city to put us in touch with those who may feel unseen or uncared for in Columbia. This year, we are once again serving significantly in housing managed by the Columbia Housing Authority by sending hundreds of volunteers into public housing areas, including the newly built Kinney Point property at Garth and Sexton. When we give our time for the benefit of others, we send the message that they are valuable.
What can I expect?
Volunteers will be working indoors and outside:
- Clearing brush around the property;
- Providing a deep cleaning for the communal building for this site, space used by residents for community gatherings, and;
- Other projects as identified.

ForColumbia 2026 Volunteer and Site Leader T-Shirts
What should I bring?
- Volunteers should bring work/garden gloves and any garden rakes they have for spreading mulch.
- Come prepared to work outside; if it’s sunny, we encourage you to bring sunscreen and/or a hat.
- We encourage all volunteers to wear closed-toed shoes.
- Be sure to wear your #ForColumbia T-shirt!
In addition to serving on this day, we will also gather donations of basic supplies for the residents of this property. Look for more information from your site leader on this detail.
Can I serve here with my children?
Yes, this is a family-friendly site!
