Why are we serving here?

One of the rewarding ways ForColumbia serves its city is by partnering with nonprofit organizations that actively work to improve the lives of people in Columbia. And especially if they are focused on serving children!

The Columbia Foster and Adoption Project is a quiet non-profit working in the background of our community to support children and families involved in the foster care system or the adoption process. This non-profit focuses on meeting practical needs for children entering foster care, as well as creating the critical community that parents and foster/adoptive families need as they stand in the gap.

Volunteers will once again help host Family Day, organized by CFAP; last year’s inaugural efforts were very well received by adoptive parents and foster families, who were grateful for the chance to relax and connect with others committed to loving children well. This is why we believe your day will be well-spent serving the Columbia Foster and Adoption Project.

What can I expect?

  • ForColumbia volunteers will be serving outdoors, running various booths with games and other activities.
  • Instructions will be given on the day of the event.

What should I bring?

  • Volunteers serving at this event do not need to bring anything, but please be sure to wear your #ForColumbia T-shirt!
  • If it’s sunny, we suggest you bring sunscreen and/or a hat.

Can I serve here with my children?

  • No, sorry. Because our efforts are making it possible for foster and adoptive families to relax with their children, we ask that volunteers serve without children, so they can focus on the families with children attending the event.
