Columbia Community Garden Coalition: Ann Street Garden

  • Arrival Time: 8:45-9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch: Delivered on-site.

Why are we serving here?

One of the ways ForColumbia strives to love and serve our city is by giving our time and energy to beautify community areas that are available to everyone to enjoy. This year, we are serving in a couple of different community garden areas, including this one located on the property provided by Memorial Baptist Church and aptly named Ann Street Garden for its location.

What can I expect?

Volunteers at this project site will be working outside in a community garden:

  • Tearing down weather-worn raised bed gardens and replacing them with new ones;
  • Weeding and prepping garden areas for planting;
  • Providing a much-needed “facelift” for the shed used by gardeners;
  • Demo’ing and rebuilding three compost bins, and;
  • Other projects as designated.

What should I bring?

  • Please bring a garden shovel or a wheelbarrow, if you have it;
  • Come prepared to work outside; if it’s sunny, we encourage you to bring sunscreen and/or a hat.
  • We encourage all volunteers to wear closed-toed shoes.
  • Be sure to wear your #ForColumbia T-shirt!

Can I serve here with my children?

Yes, we encourage families to bring older children who can assist in this project.
