One + One = a Lot More than Two
By Shelly Mayer
Coordinator, #ForColumbia2020
ForColumbia seeks opportunities for Christians to live out their faith by loving and serving our neighbors. So I really love hearing stories that come out of ForColumbia serving opportunities that involve otherwise-unlikely connections.
Two people who both live in Columbia but would likely never have met in the context of their daily routines nevertheless find themselves in a conversation. Oftentimes, people from very different walks of life will find that they still have a lot in common. Sometimes, that common ground involves a heart for serving others. That’s exactly what happened when Ginger Riley met Joyce Parker, and the two have been serving Joyce’s neighborhood, side by side, ever since.
This year, ForColumbia is headed back to Demaret and its neighborhood and our hope is simply to continue to help Joyce, and Ginger, and others, deepen relationships with more of their neighbors as we all glorify our God.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
