Why are we serving here?
One of the ways ForColumbia strives to love and serve our neighbors is by serving those non-profit organizations that are actively working every day in the lives of people in Columbia. Cor is one of the small non-profits here in Columbia that is making a big impact in the lives of male student-athletes in Columbia by holistically investing in them. Most of the young men involved at Cor come from difficult circumstances. Cor staff work to transform lives through educational assistance, athletic opportunities, and caring relationships; to develop hope for the future; and to make a way for a productive and redemptive lifestyle. This is why we think your day will be well spent serving at Cor.
What can I expect?
ForColumbia volunteers will be working inside at this site:
- Painting multiple rooms used for students to meet, study and gather as a community;
- Replacing a door, and;
- Other projects as identified.
What should I bring?
- Volunteers should wear clothes they don’t mind potentially getting paint on.
- We encourage all volunteers to wear closed-toed shoes.
- Be sure to wear your #ForColumbia2023 T-shirt!
Can I serve here with my children?
Because we will only be painting at this location, this is not a good site for children. Teens who can paint are welcome to serve alongside their parents.
